How LGBTQ+ Suppliers Are Reshaping Corporate Supply Chains

Certified LGBTQ+ Business Enterprises (LGBTBEs) are winning more contracts than ever as corporations expand their supplier diversity programs, according to a new report from the National LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC).

The report, released ahead of the NGLCC's annual International Business & Leadership Conference, found that corporate spending with LGBTQ+-owned businesses increased by 18% over the past year, driven by expanded supplier diversity commitments from Fortune 500 companies.

"We are seeing a fundamental shift in how corporations approach supplier diversity," said NGLCC President and CEO Justin Nelson. "LGBTQ+ suppliers are no longer an afterthought — they are a strategic priority for companies that understand the value of diverse supply chains."

The growth comes as more corporations have signed the NGLCC's Billion Dollar Roundtable pledge, committing to spend at least $1 billion annually with diverse suppliers including LGBTQ+-owned businesses.

Among the sectors showing the strongest growth in LGBTQ+ supplier spending are technology, professional services, and consumer goods. Companies including IBM, JPMorgan Chase, and Procter & Gamble have been recognized for their leadership in LGBTQ+ supplier diversity.

For LGBTQ+ business owners looking to enter corporate supply chains, the NGLCC offers certification as an LGBTQ+ Business Enterprise — a credential that signals to corporate buyers that a business is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by LGBTQ+ individuals.

The certification process involves a thorough review of business ownership and operations, and certified businesses gain access to the NGLCC's network of corporate members and procurement opportunities.
