Top Corporations Expanding DEI Programs in 2025

Major corporations across the Fortune 500 are doubling down on diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments despite political headwinds, according to a new report from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

The report found that 85% of Fortune 500 companies now have explicit non-discrimination policies that include sexual orientation and gender identity, up from 61% a decade ago.

Companies are also expanding employee resource groups (ERGs) for LGBTQ+ employees, with many organizations now offering dedicated support for transgender and non-binary employees including healthcare benefits that cover gender-affirming care.

"The business case for DEI has never been stronger," said one Fortune 500 chief diversity officer. "Companies that create inclusive workplaces attract and retain top talent, drive innovation, and outperform their peers."

The expansion of DEI programs comes even as some states have passed legislation restricting certain DEI initiatives. Corporate leaders say they remain committed to their inclusion goals regardless of the political environment.

Among the companies recognized for their LGBTQ+ inclusion efforts are Microsoft, Apple, Google, and dozens of other major employers who have maintained or expanded their commitments to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.
