The publication of record for LGBTQ+ business enterprise.

Affinity Inc Magazine was launched by Don McKneely, chairman of TexCorp Communications and publisher of MBN USA and WE USA, after a conversation with Justin Nelson, co-founder of the NGLCC. Fortune 100 companies said that if the magazine launched, they would support it, and they did. The first cover carried Nelson and co-founder Chance Mitchell. The magazine's mission has always been to be a bridge between LGBTQ+ businesses and corporate America.

In August 2025, ownership passed for the first time to a member of the community the magazine serves: publisher Brian Auden, entrepreneur, service-disabled veteran, and founder and CEO of Valor Force Solutions, through his media company, Affinity Media. A military veteran and active board member in organizations that champion veterans and underrepresented communities, Auden brings both personal mission and professional experience to the role.

"Taking on this role as publisher isn't just another career milestone, it's the fulfillment of a personal mission. I believe media should do more than inform. It should inspire, empower, and reflect the communities it serves."

Brian W. Auden, Publisher

Affinity Inc will continue to spotlight LGBTQ+ professionals, entrepreneurs, and allies, and to showcase the work of partner organizations including NGLCC, NaVOBA, Disability:IN, WBENC, and NMSDC, along with the corporations that champion equity and inclusion in tangible, transformational ways.

"I've always felt that Affinity Inc really needed to be owned by an LGBTQ+ entity. Although I'm an ally, I'm not a member of the community."

The market moment

Public sponsorship is retreating. Substance is not.

The model in retreat

  • Broad public sponsorship and seasonal campaigns
  • Language-led programs now under legal and political scrutiny
  • Celebration without commerce, visibility that never converts
  • Audiences increasingly read it as theater

What works now

  • Targeted, endemic business media with a trusted voice
  • Capability-first storytelling anchored to contracts and results
  • Positioning a partner's counsel and comms team can defend
  • Sincerity that is certified by the company a brand keeps

Affinity is built for the second column.

The audience

The enterprises, and the corporations that buy from them.

Certified business enterprises

Owners and leaders of certified businesses across every certification: LGBTQ+, veteran and service-disabled veteran, women-owned, disability-owned, and minority-owned enterprises. One community of enterprise. No category ranked above another.

Corporate decision-makers

Procurement and sourcing executives, supplier engagement and development leaders, and the marketing and talent teams that answer for how commitments convert into contracts. The readers who decide where the spend actually goes.

Editorial pillars

What fills the pages.

Profiles & leadership

The heroes, pioneers, and builders, real stories of leaders the next generation can actually find in print.

The cheat codes

Practical business intelligence: pricing with confidence, access to capital, payment terms, and navigating certification without the hidden costs.

Market intelligence

Buyer intent, procurement trends, and where the contracts actually are, the difference between visibility and revenue.

Community resilience

Battles won, battles lost, and what they cost, so that when one part of the market pulls away, the community holds.

Editorial independence

A property that cannot be bought, and why that pays.

Publisher-fundedThe magazine's independence is underwritten personally by its publisher. No single sponsor, market shift, or administration can move its editorial line.
Coverage is never for saleAdvertising and editorial are fully separate. Features are earned, never purchased, and sponsored content is always clearly labeled.
Clear. Kind. Honest.Every partnership on plain terms. Partners know exactly what association with Affinity means, and exactly what it doesn't.

In a market where audiences scrutinize sincerity, independence is the asset. Association with a publication that cannot be bought is the one signal a brand cannot buy anywhere else.

A note on subscriber data

We do not sell or share subscriber data with advertisers or sponsors, not as part of any partnership arrangement, not as a deliverable, not in any form. Advertising reaches our audience only through our own channels: the pages of the magazine, our newsletter, and our owned platforms.

When you partner with Affinity Inc, you are buying access to our audience's attention, not to their contact information. Our readers trust us because we have never sold that trust. That is the asset you are associating with.

Partnership standards

What partners can expect, and what we won't publish.

What partners can expect

  • Plain terms, stated up front, clear, kind, and honest
  • Sponsored content always clearly labeled as such
  • A firm wall between advertising and editorial
  • An audience that trusts the pages you appear in, because that trust has never been sold

What we won't publish

  • Pay-for-praise features or purchased covers
  • PR cover for commitments that exist in words only
  • Gloss without substance, celebration with no commerce behind it
  • Anything the publisher would not stand behind under his own name

"We will be clear, be kind, and be honest."

Brian Auden, Publisher

Digital

Placements at affinityincmagazine.com and in the subscriber newsletter.

Sponsored content

Clearly labeled partner storytelling, held to the same editorial standards as everything else.

Connection Calendar sponsorship

One sponsored placement at a time, at the top of the Connection Calendar, labelled Sponsored. Open to certification bodies, affiliate chambers, regional councils, the nonprofits and agencies that serve diverse businesses, and certified businesses. Sponsorship buys placement only: it does not change a listing's position in the calendar, exempt it from any filter, or influence which events we list. The sponsored organization's ordinary listing stays exactly where its date puts it. Placements run for an agreed window and end automatically. Listing an event on the calendar is always free.

Placements are booked first-come, one at a time.

The slot is currently booked through October 3, 2026.

Rate card available on request. Custom packages built to the partner's actual goal, not a one-size sponsorship tier. All placements subject to the partnership standards above.
