From the Publisher’s Desk
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new publisher of Affinity Inc. magazine. It’s both an honor and a deeply personal milestone to take the reins of a publication that has long stood as a beacon of visibility, advocacy, and excellence for the LGBTQ+ business community and its allies. As we transition, I want to share a bit about myself, the vision ahead, and most importantly, why Affinity Inc. matters now more than ever.
Why I’m Here
Like many of you, I’ve spent my life looking for meaningful ways to make a difference. My professional journey has taken me through the military, into the staffing industry, and recently into launching my own business. Each step has been guided by a purpose: to uplift people, create opportunities, and amplify voices that too often go unheard.
Taking on this role as publisher isn’t just another career milestone — it’s the fulfillment of a personal mission.
I believe media should do more than inform. It should inspire, empower, and reflect the communities it serves. That’s exactly what Affinity Inc. has done for years, and I intend to continue to expand that legacy.
What We’ll Continue
Affinity Inc. will continue founder Don Mc-Kneely’s legacy of spotlighting and uplifting LGBTQ+ professionals, entrepreneurs, and allies. We’ll continue to showcase the incredible work of partner organizations such as NGLCC, NaVOBA, Disability:IN, WBENC, and NMSDC, along with the corporations that champion equity and inclusion in tangible, transformational ways.
We’ll keep telling the stories behind the headlines — stories of leaders using their platforms to make real change in business and in society. We’ll continue to elevate best practices and celebrate innovation. And most importantly, we’ll keep producing a magazine that instills pride, fosters belonging, and says to every reader: This is your magazine, and I’m here to help showcase you.
A Bit About Me
I live in South Florida with my wonderful husband and our very full lives. I’m a military veteran, a proud business owner, and an active board member in several organizations that champion veterans and underrepresented communities. When I can steal a moment of downtime, you’ll probably find me soaking in nature, listening to live music, or planning my next big idea.
Though I’ve held many titles over the years, “magazine publisher” is a first for me. But here’s the secret: No one does anything great alone. I’ve surrounded myself with a phenomenal team — smart, passionate professionals who believe in the mission of Affinity Inc. as much as I do. You’ll get to know them in the coming issues, and I promise you’ll love them like I do.
Looking Ahead
We’re already working on new ways to deepen Affinity Inc.’s impact. From live events to awards programs to expanded editorial coverage, our goal is to create more touchpoints for connection, celebration, and collective progress.
Because at the heart of everything we do is one word: community.
I am so proud to be part of this one — and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to help you shine. If you see me at an event or hear from me online, I hope you’ll say hello. I’d love to hear your ideas, your stories, and your vision for how Affinity Inc. can better serve you.
Faithfully yours,
Brian W. Auden
